2015 London Marathon!

This week has been a big week for me. I found out on Friday that i had secured a place on the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society Team for the 2015 London Marathon. I’ve wanted to do a marathon for a long time now, to be able to say i’ve done one, and the London was always the one i wanted to do. I’m also extremely excited that i can help to raise money for such a wonderful charity.

When i was little my dad was always running and ran several marathons (14 to be exact). Memories of my dad from locals from where we lived at the time are of him running (and his shorts). He got his times down to very impressive finishes, and while i’m not looking to try and emulate this (i’m just looking to try and get through it!) it will be a great feeling to follow in his footsteps.

I’m really looking forward to getting started on this challenge and to hopefully raise a lot of money for the MS Society. Having had 2 relatives pass away from MS, it is a charity close to our family ‘s heart.

Over the next several weeks/months, i will be blogging on how i’m progressing, i’ve had issues with my knees and running before so i will be taking precautions on this to make it through hopefully with minimal pain! Current plans are sessions of mobility workouts and minimalist running shoes. I will keep you updated. I’ll also update you with how you can get involved in sponsoring me.

See you on the pavements soon!
